It's a Party

I’m participating in the Ultimate Blog Party this year and you’re invited! For my loyal readers, drop on over to 5 Minutes for Mom and check out all the prizes. You don’t have to be a blogger to win, just a girl (sorry no boys allowed) so what are you waiting for? Go check it out! My personal prize choices are #24, #36, #45, #67, #91.

If you’ve dropped in from 5 Minutes for Mom welcome to Three Weddings, a blog about my life with a husband and three girls (weddings).

I opened my blog on December 2, 2007 and have become ADDICTED! I have made many new friends but always have room for more.

I devote most of my blog to my life as a mom, but venture into the group writing arena once in a while. As I said, I have three girls, Michelangelo (MA for short) - age 11, Diva - age 5 and Peanut - age 3. As with most toddlers, Peanut provides most of my content, but Diva has her fair share. MA is going into seventh grade this year and settling in nicely as a mommy’s helper and young lady. I am very proud of her.

In addition to family antics, I blog weekly about Down syndrome. We learned when Peanut was born that she has Down syndrome and I have made it my mission to educate others about this birth defect in the hopes that it will no longer be something to be feared. Before Peanut was born I was terrified at the prospect of having a child with special needs. I admit, Peanut has not had many health or developmental delays to complicate our lives, but there have been trying times. Regardless, she is the perfect addition to our family and I never want to imagine our lives without her.

A little bit about me:

My name is Debbie Yost. I love to sew, write, read and watch television. I read for pleasure and escape. You will rarely, if ever, see me reading a non-fiction book. I prefer mysteries, or romance. Some of my favorite authors are Sidney Sheldon, Sue Grafton, John Grisham and Nora Roberts. I also love sci-fi and fantasy. I’ve read the Harry Potter series multiple times. I enjoy several of the Star Trek series and am a HUGE Star Wars fan. You can read a little more about me by clicking on the button over there on the left.

But, enough about me! This is a party, let’s have some fun. Peanut’s got the Diet Dr. Pepper.

We’ve got lots of cake and cheese cake!

Finally, no party is complete without chocolate!

I hope you enjoyed my party. Please take a moment to leave a comment and introduce yourself!

Hi Joanna,
I can still remember sitting in the movie theater watching Star Wars. When it came out again 20 years later, my husband and I went again with our daughter.

Thanks for stopping by my party! I hope you'll visit again.

Diet Dr. Pepper and chocolate...what could make for a better party?

I totally understand the being dragged to Kansas thing. My brother is a grad of KU and has recently started a job in KC...on the Missouri side. He refused to live on that side of the river and instead opted to still live in Kansas!

Nice to "meet" you!

Oh my goodness, you kids are so cute!! Loved the chocolate face!!!! Thanks so much for coming to my party! My hubby's always wanting me off the computer too, thus I don't get any sleep now because I do it late at night. Got to feed my addiction somehow ;)

Nice to meet you Debbie. Thanks for the comment on my blog. What a great looking family! Does your husband feel overwhelmed in your house full of girls? Mine does (even the dog's a girl)... and you have one more than me. I love it when we have our own plans of how our life is going to be (like when you wanted to have children and 2 girls, 2 boys) and God has plans of His own. Both my girls were unexpected surprises and couldn't have come at a more "inconvenient" time in my life, but thank God they did. My life is so rich and crazy because of them. I'm so glad I get to share my life with them. Anyway, hope we can be friends. Talk to you soon!

I've been SO behind on my blog posts. I've added tons, which means I have close to 200 posts to read!! Of course, I can't read that many in one day (poo). Anyway, glad you joined the party!

Wow, I learned a lot more about you from this post! And that we have more in common than a first name and 3 daughters... I love several of the same authors that you do, and am a huge sci-fi/fantasy fan as well.

Love the pictures - that last one of Peanut with the chocolate face is absolutely adorable! :)

Hello! I got your blog from the 5 Minutes for Mom Party, and got intrigued by your blog title. You do have a beautiful and sweet family! I have a little boy (Lucas, 4 and half years old), and just love reading as well. I'm reading the first Harry Potter to Lucas! Hope you can stop by soon to "have a cup of chocolat" and chat at my blog. Have a great day, bright blessings from Nydia.

I'm the oldest of five kids (the first four are girls!)... we've had two weddings in our family already and I just want to say that it is possible to have a beautiful wedding at a reasonable cost! DIY all the way if possible!

This is fun, making the rounds to new blogs, making new friends! Happy Blog Party! C'mon over to my party post!

I totally get reading to escape. I don't read non-fiction either. I pretty much read romance/drama. (What romance doesn't come with its share of drama?)

You have a beautiful family. Have a great week blog hopping!

Hello from Alabama. My name is Mandy and I am mom to a 14 year old boy and almost 3 year old girl. Sorry, I haven't got a blog up and going yet, just lurking and seeing what it's all about. Don't like to feel as though I am spying on people though, so I pop in and let myself be seen. So HI! Nice to meet you. Your girls are absolutely adorable.

Hello from Utah, your girls are adorable, aren't girls the best! Nice to meet you!

You are certainly blessed! All your little girls are just darling! Do you think Peanut would mind sharing some Diet Dr. P? It is my favorite! Anyway, greetings from Arizona! I am a total mystery reader myself. Non fiction plays a very small part in my reading, but I do pick it up on occasion. Sue Grafton is also one of my favorite authors. I have all the books so far and even a few on CD because the reader is sooooo awesome! Have a wonderful week!
