Tagged Again

I was tagged by Joanna at Confident Writing to list 8 random things about me. I've already listed Seven Random Things and Six Weird Things about me and I still have faithful readers. I'm hoping by sharing 8 more items it will not scare you off for good.

  1. Eight is my favorite number. Always has been. Perhaps it's because my birthday is April 8.

  2. I was born in 1968 and I graduated high school in 1986. All you have to do is flip the last two numbers. I always thought that was kind of cool.

  3. My favorite color is green.

  4. My first job was at McDonalds. I usually got stuck working the drive-thru, which I hated. We were one of the first double window drive-thrus, but when they built it, they had a hall going down to the first window. I was stuck down there for hours by myself. In today's drive-thrus, that window usually opens into the kitchen area so the person is not so isolated. However, I could sneak cokes down there and no one ever knew. To this day it drives me crazy when the fry buzzer goes off and no one gets it. I want to crawl over the counter and turn it off! (and smack a few of the slow-poke employees in the process.)

  5. I once flashed a guy for a hot dog. Not as exciting as it sounds. I was in college and we went to this vineyard (yes we have a couple in Missouri) for a party called Grape Stomp. Towards the end of the party and after many beers, I showed my bra for a hot dog. That's about the most wild college story I have.

  6. Speaking of drinking, I'm a lightweight. In college I signed up to be a test subject for police officers learning the horizontal gaze nystagmus test. We had to drink beer until we blew a 1.0 and then the officers put us through a series of field sobriety tests. It took me all of 1 1/2 beers.

  7. I love penguins. I decorated MA's nursery with penguins. I had a hard time finding bedding and other decorations. Of course, a year or so later they were all over the place. Isn't that how it always goes?

  8. When I was a kid there was this show on PBS called Mother Nature. The show came to the lake my aunt and uncle lived at to film about water safety. My siblings and I were visiting for the week and went to the taping in hopes of being on television. I don't remember if my siblings were on during the show (I think they were) but I was not. Then at the end of the show, during the closing credits, they had me swimming around with my orange life jacket on. My 15 (more like 1.5) minutes of fame!

I'm not going to tag anyone on this, but feel free to play along. If you do, let me know and I'll give you a link.

I'm spending the day at a conference about Down syndrome and a "Focus on the Future." I'm excited to learn more to help Peanut and gather more information for my Tuesday posts! Have a great Saturday!

HA! This one gave me a good chuckle! I'm a lightweight, too. Half a glass of wine knocks me out!

How funny - my favorite color is green and my favorite number has always been 8. I find it amusing that the police would intentionally get college students drunk to conduct a test.

Only 1 1/2 beers? Kind of scary, huh?

Debbie-I've seen the flyer for the conference. I participated in DSG's Affiliates in Action conference last month in AZ and it was so informative, so I know you'll get lots of information today. Would you mind forwarding some of your knowledge along to me at jacquih1126@gmail.com. Thanks!

I love these things. It's always so much fun to learn silly things about people. Thanks for being willing to do another one.
